  • The society represents more than 50,000 members in 118 countries, including physicists in academia, national laboratories, and industry in the United States and throughout the world.
  • There are 49 APS Units consisting of divisions, forums, sections, and topical groups.
  • The society secured over 5,000+ connections with Congress last year through advocacy efforts.
  • APS publishes 17 peer-reviewed journals that feature more than 20,000 articles each year.

APS Mission Statement

To advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics for the benefit of humanity, promote physics, and serve the broader physics community, we:

  • provide a welcoming and supportive professional home for an active, engaged, and diverse membership
  • advance scientific discovery and research dissemination advocate for physics and physicists, and amplify the voice for science
  • share the excitement of physics and communicate the essential role physics plays in the modern world, and
  • promote effective physics education for all

About the March Meeting

The APS March Meeting is one of the largest gatherings of physicists in the world, with 10,000+ scientific presentations and 13,000+ attendees. Attendees can participate in Las Vegas March 5–10 and/or virtually March 20–22. Virtual meeting access is included with all in-person registrations.

With two meeting experiences, we’ll expand the reach of our science to benefit the broader physics community and beyond.

The meeting also hosts an action-packed exhibit floor, career-focused events—including a three-day job expo, student programming, networking receptions, and much more.
