The APS March Job Expo will be in Central Time (CT)

For the first time ever, this year’s Job Expo will be held virtually, in conjunction with the APS March Meeting. The Job Expo is a recruiting event organized by the American Physical Society (APS) to put employers in touch with job seekers, many of whom have recently graduated or are nearing completion of their degrees. Through the platform Gather.Town, employers and job seekers will be able to interact with each other through video chats and other great and exciting ways that are simple, yet effective.

You are not required to register for the general APS March Meeting to participate! Participation is free for Job Seekers.

  • March 1: Registration deadline for Employers
  • March 16: 12 noon. - 3:00 p.m. CT: Job Expo
  • March 17: 12 noon - 3:00 p.m.CT : Job Expo
  • March 18: 12 noon - 3:00 p.m. CT: Job Expo

Register for the Event

You do not have to register for the full March Meeting to participate! To register, simply click on the registration link and fill out the Google Form. This is a standalone registration for this event only and does not include registration for the full March Meeting. If you wish to attend the scientific sessions at the regular March Meeting, you must separately register for that meeting.

Job Expo FAQs

Must I be an APS member or be registered for the Meeting in order to participate in the Job Fair?

No, you just need to register for the job expo through the link provided above. Registration for job seekers is free. Note: registration for this event does not include a main March Meeting registration. If you wish to attend the scientific sessions at the March Meeting, please register on the main March Meeting website.

How will I access the virtual Gather space?

If you have registered for the event and provided your email address, you will receive an email on Monday, March 15 with instructions on how to join the virtual event on the Gather platform.

How do I see a listing of all Job Fair postings?

On the days of the event, simply visit the employers on the Gather platform and click on the link provided to view the jobs, or visit the main bulletin board in the Gather space.

How do I request an interview/apply?

On the days of the event, you can visit the employers on the Gather platform, or follow instructions listed on the job postings.

Where will job expo interviews be conducted?

Employers will independently schedule and conduct private virtual interviews with job seekers.

Can employers contact me after the job expo?

Yes. If you fill out the registration form, your information will be shared with Employers, who may contact you following the event.
